Library Donation Policy
Thank you for considering a gift to Saint John XXIII’s Library!
New Book Donations
If you are selecting something new to buy, let us help you make a choice designed to delight teens, fill a known need or complement the classroom curriculum. We can have such fun, and make a selection to suit your taste and your pocketbook! A Donor Book Plate can be placed in the front of your book with your name or the name of the loved one you wish to honor. Our formal “Thank You” letter will include an acknowledgement of your gift for Income Tax purposes.
Money Donations for Library Books
Similar to a well-tended garden, every year we “weed out” worn, outdated or unappealing books from the library’s collection. In addition, we identify replacement books that enhance the literature goals and information needs of our students and teachers. A cash donation is a wonderful way to customize your gift, so that it receives the best and most universal use. Again, your gift will be acknowledged for your Income Tax files. Corporate matched gifts are also greatly appreciated.
Used Book Donations
We welcome your donation of used books. Although not all used books will meet the selection criteria, they may still be traded in, or given to teachers for classroom collections. The approximate value of your donation can be determined using a Goodwill Donation Calculator.
Please contact us with any donation questions or to make arrangements for donations to be picked up or dropped off at the school.
A gift to the library blesses many children, now and in the years to come.
